Its Hip to be Square

Another advantage of the Olympus Pen cameras is that you can change the image size. This is square picture most familiar from the 6X6 Rollieflex cameras. You can also use 4x 3 which is slightly rectangular and panoramic 16x9.

My to favorite things a glass of beer and 1 of my cameras. I was experimenting with high ISO and the level device built into the viewfinder. One the biggest problems I have had over the years is unlevel horizons in my pictures. I shoot left eyed with glasses so I always have the camera cocked to 1 side. The EVF with level helped.

Olympus EP2

I have a new to me Olympus EP2 with 14-42 kit lens. I have been shooting with SLR's for 32 years since I bought my first camera which was a Canon AV-1. This camera is based on the classic 1/2 frame Olympus Pen. It is a micro 4/3rds lens mount and does not have a mirror. It is very compact and I am using VF-2 electronic viewfinder. This is a very slow learning experience. The interface is almost all menus and I don't have a manual so it is hack my way around the menus to try and set it up the way I like. One thing that I have noticed since I have gone digital is that I still shoot like I am using film. I only took 2 shots of the dog rather than 30 or 50. My goal is to have fun with this camera, after all this is a hobby.
